Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Projects, the Study Director (AAEP Red Dog Mine - Aktigiruq & Anarraaq Extension Program) is accountable for leading and directing Teck’s AAEP early-stage studies (prefeasibility), working in collaboration with, and on behalf of, Teck’s business units to shape the project and inform sound commercial decisions. The Study Director will perform their duties as Teck’s Projects Group service provider. The role includes significant interaction and collaboration with Teck’s executive leadership team. Essential skills include strategic thinking, business acumen, complex decision making, innovation, and strong representation. Key accountabilities include: project safety and delivering quality plans, schedules, estimates, and documentation per Teck’s project development framework. The Study Director will be charged with leading a multi-disciplinary Owner team, EPCM services contractors and specialist consultants to deliver on the scope and collaborate with members of the asset management and leadership teams to develop, review and monitor quality management plans, HSEC plans, estimates, budgets, schedules, procurement plans, contracts and contracting plans. The Director will provide specific expertise in project strategy and site management and will need to constantly maintain and demonstrate Teck’s commitment to safety and environmental protection as a core value. The Study Director will also work closely with the social, environmental, and regulatory teams to support permitting requirements. The position will be based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
