The appointment is a full-time clinical position with an expectation of at least 20% non-clinical work (research, teaching, and academic administration). The effective date of this appointment is July 1, 2024. The candidate will participate in the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and will contribute to the academic enterprise of the department. The successful candidate will provide clinical and surgical sub-specialty care in paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus and will also participate in on-call duties. The successful candidate will assume care of patients in an existing paediatric clinical and surgical practice. Applicants must hold an MD degree or equivalent, have fellowship training in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and have experience in both performing surgeries and in postoperative management of surgeries. The candidate must currently hold or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This position is resourced with clinic space and surgical privileges. The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Lecturer or higher.
