Job Title: LIMS Business Application Analyst Reports to: Manager - IT Pharmacy Systems Department: CO1IT-Corproate IT Office Location: Dulles, VA (Remote) POSITION SUMMARY: The LIMS Business Applications Analyst is responsible for administering Laboratory Information Management System as well as supporting other key computer systems and software in use within pharmaceutical labs. This responsibility includes assisting and training computer system users, automating key business processes with workflow within LIMS and other business applications, trouble shooting and resolving computer software problems, and administering key benchtop systems. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interact with various departments throughout the organization, vendors, partners, and customers to upgrade pharmacy/lab and business applications and reports. Identify opportunities to improve current business and software processes and facilitate solution development and implementation. Facilitate requirements sessions with users and develop concise requirements. Transform business requirements into detailed designs that can be implemented. Perform impact assessment before making any updates to the application to avoid negatively impacting existing functionalities. Preparation of the testing strategy and the execution of the test plan. Identify opportunities to improve current business and software processes and facilitate solution development and implementation. Develop detailed implementation plan for rollout to corporate users and network of pharmacies/labs. Support Project Manager/Manager with project management activities including defining scope, identifying project tasks, managing dependencies risks and issues, and supporting change controls. Support users with issue resolution for software and reports. Support site LIMS team during internal and regulatory GMP system audits. Work on one or more projects concurrently. Stay abreast of trends in technology in support of LIMS and core lab automation. Travel - up to 20% domestically. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred. 3+ years administering experience with ThermoFisher Sample Manager, Labware or similar LIMS and LES System. 3+ years of experience performing Business Application Analysis in a related system area preferred. 3+ years working in Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Nutraceutical Laboratory, or Biotechnology Environment Experience working in a regulated environment (CGMP or similar) Working experience with Agile and Waterfall Software Development Processes, Project Management, Requirements Definition and ITIL Operational Processes. Working knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating systems such as Windows Server 2012/2016, Virtualization Technologies, Active Directory, and Office 365. Experience administering cloud-based applications and cloud-services within AWS and Azure preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communications skills with ability to lead across teams. Experience with systems networking elements such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and general routing protocols preferred. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
