Ascendium Paid Intern-14 Student Services Student Employment Tsaile Campus Duty Schedule: 8:00AM-8:00PM (Flexible), Sunday through Saturday Summary/Objective of Position: Ascendium Paid Internship Program will allow students to gain valuable applied work experience in a professional setting through temporary work placement. The Paid Internship program will allow individuals to experience various careers within their degree field. To participate, individuals must submit a complete packet consisting of a student employment application, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Vaccination Record Card, a letter of interest, two recommendation letters, unofficial transcripts, and a current class schedule. All candidates that submit a complete application will be scheduled for an interview. Based on the interview, participants will be placed in different departments that align with their degree program and career path. Full and part-time students from the Tsaile campus are eligible to participate. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The college intern will provide administrative and office support for the various departments across Tsaile Dine College campus.The administrative support includes creating and maintaining databases, researching and compiling data, proofreading and editing publications, event planning projects, websites updates, and other projects as assigned.The position requires multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under pressure.Draft, type, or print reports, general letters, spreadsheets, e-mails, and memorandums consistent with the department.Answers and makes phone calls, respond to the department or program-related questions and sends written material as directed.Communicate, interact, and support the departmental staff and employees as assigned.Assists and helps plan events and activities for the organization.Support and assist employees and staff with organizational goals and objectives.Attend zoom meetings, conferences, and other organizational events and take notes on behalf of the department.Assist and provide input on planning and assessment to help achieve organizational goals and objectives.Observe and follow the work environment based on the organizational strategy and structure.Be willing to support and assist with various programs and projects to understand better the duties and obligations of the diverse position within the department or program.Provide administrative assistance for weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Minimum: - Minimum of a 2.0 term and cumulative GPA. - Must have access to a computer/laptop with a reliable Internet connection.- Be enrolled part- or full-time student at Dine' College in Summer/Fall 2023 semester. Must provide COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. - Must have earned 24 college credit hours are more towards a degree os study at Dine College. - Must be in good academic and social standing.- A minimum of three months of work or volunteer experience in event planning, leadership, and/or administrative support. Knowledge: - Working knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. - Exceptionally well organized with excellent follow-through abilities. - Effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.- Demonstrate agility to shift directions in response to changing work situations.- Knowledge of on-line and in-person campus resources. Skills: - Proficient organizational skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and duties.- Ability to work with diverse populations.- Ability to document and outline meetings on behalf of the organization or department.- Ability to work collaboratively with various individuals and managers.- Efficient Social skills to present and conduct group activities.- Be punctual and respectful to coworkers and management. Abilities: - Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.- Ability to learn and use various software and innovative technology.- Willingness to be mentored and trained regarding organizational duties and responsibilities.- Knowledge of Dine College Student Code of Conduct.- Ability to conduct research at secondary level.- Ability to commit 20 hours a week to work responsibilities and maintain high academic standards simultaneously. Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel: - Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds, repetitive bending/reaching, standing, sitting, climbing, twisting, walking, or running for extended periods.- Must be able to work remotely through telework if needed. Other Requirement(s): - Knowledge of Navajo Culture & Language is preferred.- Coordinate and organize meeting and special events.- Oral fluency in the Navajo language is desired,but not required.
