Practice Area: Patent Agents - Electrical Engineering,Patent Agents - Computer Science, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 4 Years, The law firm, located in St. Louis, is seeking a Mid-level Patent Agent with a strong academic background and substantial experience in patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical engineering or computer science and a focus on software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. Admission to the USPTO is a prerequisite for this role. Duties:Conduct patent searches and analyses to assess the patentability of inventions.Draft and prosecute patent applications in compliance with USPTO regulations.Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to gather necessary information for patent filings.Respond to office actions and other communications from the USPTO.Conduct legal research and analysis to support patent prosecution activities.Provide guidance on patent strategy and portfolio management. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science.Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Minimum of 4 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.The solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience. Preferred Experience:Patent prosecution in electrical engineering or software-related technologies.Data science/AI or networking technologies, especially network security.Machine learning/artificial intelligence, in addition to data science and hardware security. Skills:Strong academic achievement.Excellent writing and communication skills.Proficient in conducting patent searches and analyses.Ability to draft and prosecute patent applications effectively.Legal research and analysis skills.Knowledge of patent strategy and portfolio management.
