Job Summary We are seeking an Associate to join our Sustainable Finance team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate will be working with the Executive Director of Sustainable Finance ("SF"), Americas as well as other team members to drive origination, develop strong client relationships and be seen as an expert in Sustainable Finance by internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will need to be able to identify SF transactions and opportunities, be a centre of excellence, and have an understanding of sustainability materiality, financing structures, and industry trends. The candidate will further have to support the team with developing and rolling out regional and global strategic initiatives and to create relevant partnerships with external organizations that will help further the Sustainable Finance mandate. Such as produce Sustainable Finance Frameworks for clients.We appreciate self-driven candidates who will be working closely with the wider SF team, coverage and product partners to develop an understanding of the competitive landscape and identify prospective partners who can address customer needs and accelerate growth. We believe that a willingness to acquire new skills will contribute to success in this role. Key Responsibilities Proactively manage the designated Sustainable Finance client and product portfolio to ensure risks are appropriately identified and managed. Conduct Sustainability and Sustainable Finance research to support the Americas' Executive Director. Support new sustainable finance transactions and origination across all products, including loans, bonds, trade, derivatives and deposit. Coordinate and create Sustainable Finance Frameworks for clients. Be able to work with relationship teams to develop client transition plans that encourage decarbonisation. Coordinate and produce Sustainable Finance Market Updates. Develop an understanding of ESG ratings and benchmarking analysis for clients. Develop Sector thematic that describe sustainable finance structure alternatives. Manage, analyze, and track the Americas' Sustainable Finance deal pipeline. Produce Sustainable Finance product proposals. Provide sustainability materiality, and sustainable finance analysis. Review deal documentation alignment to sustainable finance principles and Banks' policies. Key Criteria Degree (BA or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Management, or Sustainability).2- 6 years of sustainable finance, sustainability experience.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Sustainable Finance Principles and Sustainability materiality.Ability to promote good teamwork, collaboration, and management of conflict across stakeholders. Essential Competencies Ability to independently drive initiatives with minimum hands-on supervision, including with developing partnership opportunities.Excel, Power Point, and general Microsoft Office proficiency.Strong Analytical and research skills.Deep curiosity for learning and ability to teach.Client-focused with ability to establish and leverage high impact relationships while presenting creative solutions.Strong communication and presentation skills, and stakeholder management skills.Project Management Skills. Ability to work with lots of moving parts and complexity with delivery and execution focus.Highly skilled in creation of briefing materials, report writing and preparation of presentations.Superior organization skills and time management. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
