Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Director, Collegewide Communications on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida. Assists the Associate Vice President of Communications in the implementation of strategic communication, public relations and marketing/advertising goals for Eastern Florida State College to recruit and retain students, build the college?s brand and develop and maintain positive relationships within college audiences and the community at large. The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:Bachelor?s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in the fields of communication/organizational communication, public relations, marketing and/or advertising.6-8 years of professional experience.Accredited in Public Relations (APR) preferred.Proven track record in advertising and marketing. Proven track record in special event planning. Project management experience.Excellent writing skills and the ability to tailor messaging to target audiences using a variety of communication tools.Excellent interpersonal/relationship management skills a must. Ability to collaborate with other departments and individuals to accomplish projects.Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)Excellent communication skills in writing, editing and oral presentation.Understands and maintains confidentiality.Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.Maintains and promotes a positive image for the College.Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to successfully pass writing, editing and PR scenario tests.Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator?s license required. For individuals unable to obtain a driver?s license, a valid Florida ID is required. Employees and/ or volunteers unable to obtain a Florida driver?s license, will not be allowed to drive any college vehicle, golf cart or any other motorized vehicle on college property.This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.Understanding of and commitment to Equal Access/Equal Opportunity.Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase.* *High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. Minimum physical qualifications:Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.Ability to occasionally lift, pull or push, and/or move up to 15 pounds.Ability to access, input and retrieve information/data from a computer. The annual salary is $65,000. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
